Usher’s Baby Boy Likely To Be Named… Usher
Well, you can’t blame the guy. He’s named Usher Raymond IV, which I suppose means he was preceded by Usher Raymonds I, II, and III. That kind of pedigree would put a lot of pressure on anybody. I can’t see Usher breaking the tradition, and naming his son Otis or something.
So, Usher Raymond V it is, or so People reports, in its annoucement of the birth of a baby boy — their first child — for newlyweds Usher, and Tameka Foster. Little Usher Raymond V was born yesterday, November 27, in an Atlanta hospital.
Usher, 29, and Foster, 36, had announced the pregnancy this summer. They tied the knot in Atlanta on September 1.

For Brooke Burke And David Charvet, What’s Next After Heaven Rain?
The problem with coming up with really cool celebrity baby names is that after you name one child something really unique, what do you do for an encore?
In January, model Brooke Burke and fiance, actor David Charvet, welcomed their first child together. They named their daughter Heaven Rain. Now Burke is pregnant again, due next spring. And this could pose a problem.
What do you name a child who follows Heaven Rain? It’s not as if you can rely on the old standbys, like Emily or Matthew. Burke already has a track record of picking unusual names. From her previous marriage, she has a daughter named Neriah, 7 (which means “lamp of God” in Hebrew, and reportedly was chosen in honor of Burke’s friend and former Playmate Neriah Davis), and another daughter named Sierra Sky, 5.
Not your average girls’ names. Almost a hippie, or Sixties feel to them.
If Burke and Charvet have a girl, I think we’ll see another name inspired by Nature — maybe Stream, or Willow. And if it’s a boy — look for a Native American influence. Maybe something like Red Cloud. Goes with Heaven Rain!
Burke, 36, and Charvet, 35, began dating in 2005, when they were working on Rock Star: INXS.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck Announces Baby Name On T.V.
UPDATE: November 12. Elizabeth Hasselbeck called in to The View today, to announce that her new baby’s name is Taylor Thomas. Wow. That was certainly worth the anticipation.
Taylor, by the way, is one of America’s top ten unisex baby names. It is favored much more by girls than boys, however.
Original Post, November 11. Following in the tackiest of celebrity traditions, in the footsteps of such Barnumizers as NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon and ice skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck is wringing every ounce of P.R. value from her celebrity birth.
Hasselbeck, 30, and NFL quarterback husband Tim, 29, welcomed their second child on November 9 in Arizona, and in a publicity stunt worthy of E! News’s Samantha Harris, whom Fame Crawler called “the greatest pregnant poser of all time,” Hasselbeck will be calling in to The View on Monday to announce the baby name.
Maybe ABC should take it one step further. Why not set it up like American Idol, and let everyone vote on the baby name, as soon as Hasselbeck announces it? That would make for exciting television!

Twins For Dennis Quaid — And A Nod To T. Boone Pickens?
I never would have guessed that Dennis Quaid and Texas oil billionaire and one-time corporate raider T. Boone Pickens were pals, but stranger stuff happens, and maybe they’re BFF. How else to explain the name that Quaid and his wife Kimberly chose for their newborn son — Thomas Boone? As in T. Boone.
In case you’re wondering, the ‘T’ in T. Boone Pickens also stands for Thomas.
T. Boone Quaid was born November 8 in Santa Monica, along with twin sister Zoe Grace.
The twins, who were born via ‘gestational carrier,’ are the second and third children for Quaid, 53, who also has a son, Jack Henry, 17, with ex-wife Meg Ryan.

What A Shock — Christina Aguilera Really Is Pregnant
I was beginning to think that Christina Aguilera was going to have to give birth before she admitted that she’s pregnant, but finally, the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, and we can all stop ‘guessing.’
Aguilera, 26, and husband Jordan Bratman, 30, will be first time parents early next year, according to People.

Twins Arrive Early For CNN Anchor Nancy Grace
CNN’s Headline News anchor Nancy Grace, 48, gave birth to twins — a boy and a girl — two months early, on Sunday, November 4.
John David weighed 5lb 1oz, and Lucy Elizabeth weighed just 2lb 15oz at birth. The early delivery was prompted by medical concerns about a pulmonary edema which Grace developed during pregnancy.
All three are doing well, according to Grace’s husband, investment banker David Linch.
People reports that John is named for ‘John the Revelator,’ also known as ‘John the Divine,’ author of the biblical Book of Revelations.

Milla Jovovich Comes Up With Best Celebrity Baby Name “Ever”
That’s right — the name is Ever. Actress and model Milla Jovovich, 31, gave birth to her first child, a daughter, on November 3 in Los Angeles. It’s the first child for Ukranian-born Jovovich, and her fiance, Paul Anderson, 42.
To celebrate the happy event, the couple named their daughter Ever Gabo.
What does it mean? I’m not sure. The best reference I could find to ‘Gabo’ was a Russian-born sculptor named Naum Gabo, (1890-1977) who was a pioneer of the Kinetic Art movement. Kinetic art refers to sculptures with moving parts. Maybe they want their daughter to have a lot of energy!
The couple met in 2002, when Anderson was directing, and Jovovich was starring, in the first Resident Evil movie.

Waiting For A Cool Baby Name From Mark Ruffalo
Actor Mark Ruffalo, 39, (Zodiac; Reservation Road), and his wife, French-American actress Sunrise Coigney, should be good for another unusual celebrity baby name, with the late October arrival of their as-yet-unnamed second daughter.
With a name like Sunrise, how could you not feel the pressure when it comes to choosing a baby name?
Ruffalo and Coigney, 35, who married in 2000, named their son, now six, Keen, which is one of the more unusual celebrity baby names I’ve come across. They went traditional with their first daughter’s name, Bella, now two years old. The couple own a boutique in Los Angeles called Kaviar and Kind — maybe they’ll choose a name beginning with “K.”

Last month, Phifer, 32, told People that he wants to have “four or five kids.” He has an eight year-old son named Omikaye from his former marriage, to actress Malinda Williams.

Celebrity Pregnancies — Confirmations, Rumors, And Wishful Thinking
Confirmed: In Living Color comedian David Alan Grier, 42, and his wife, Christine Kim, are expecting a baby girl in early 2008. They told People that they’ve narrowed the baby name list down to four or five names already.
Law and Order: Criminal Intent star Vincent D’Onofrio, 48, and his wife, Carin van der Donk, are expecting their second child. The pair already has a 7 year-old son, Elias, and D’Onofrio has a 15 year-old daughter from his previous marriage, to actress Greta Scacchi.
Rumors: Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, Chris Judd, has told reportedly US Magazine that he is “very happy” that she’s pregnant. Lopez has not confirmed this herself, but the Lopez pregnancy is now a big step closer to ‘confirmed’.
Wishful Thinking: Angelina Jolie pregnant again? The gossip world wishes it was true. There’s nobody like Angelina for selling magazines and keeping readers glued to the gossip websites. The rumor mill is starting up again, but so far that’s all it is.
And in the “we’re desperate for something to write about” category, this stretch from Hollywood Grind about whether actress Cate Blanchett is pregnant or not. UPDATE: Confirmed! Blanchett is due in April says the Hollywood Gossip.
